Sri Devaraj URS Medical College (SDUMC), Kolar was established in 1991 by the Sri Devaraj Urs Educational Trust.Sri Devaraj URS Medical College (SDUMC), is a well known medical institution, providing medical education to the students of the state.

The college is also being run and managed by the trust.

The college offers unique professional, cultural and recreational opportunities in friendly environment and the college is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS).

The college is approved by the Government of Karnataka, as well. Sri Devaraj URS Medical College (SDUMC), Kolar has the distinction of getting recognition, during the first inspection in the year 1991, from the Medical Council of India (MCI).

The students of the college are governed by the rules and regulations of the RGUHS and MCI and it has also got the ISO - 9001: 2000 certification.

The college is accredited by the National assessment and accreditation council (NAAC), India and within a short time, it has made rapid progress academically.
