Sri Balaji College of Education, Arni was established in 1985. It is promoted by Thirumathi Kannammal Education Trust.

Thirumathi Kannammal Education Trust was founded in the year 1985 with the main objective of fostering Higher Education in Tamil Nadu. With this objective, the Sri Balaji College of Education has been established as one among the chain of colleges by the trust..

The management encourages students to follow a strict disciplined approach in their training programme to enable them to acquire the latest theoretical and practical knowledge and become full-fledged teachers in their respective fields.

The college is recognised by National Council For Teacher Education and affiliated to Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University, Chennai.
