Sree Saraswathi Thyagaraja College (STC) was established in 1997 and its affiliation from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore and commenced its educational journey on the auspicious day of Vijayadasami.

STC is a self financing institution with autonomous status founded by the charitable trust VSV VIDYAA MANDIR in 1997 to offer quality education at affordable cost to the rural students of Pollachi region. The college offers 15 under graduate degree courses, 8 Post graduate degree courses and 6 Research Programs.

The college obtained affiliation from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore and commenced its educational journey on the auspicious day of Vijayadasami.

STC strongly believes in the skill development of the students rather than students graduation with mere knowledge and searching for opportunities. The institution has several MoUs and Tie-ups with several organizations like CODISSIA, TalentSprint, Educational Institutions, Training Institutions etc. for hands-on training, industry visit, development of aptitude skills, technical skills and communicative skills as a part of integrated learning model right from first year.

STC has a unique transformation model which calls for 40% of Knowledge sharing, 50 % of Skill development and 10% of Attitude which we humbly put it as our contribution towards Nation building exercise.

STC has also been re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) of the University Grants Commission (UGC) with A grade and also has got ISO 9001:2008 certification.

We have various student centric Centers of Excellence, which enable the students to utilize the best of their services and achieve their goals. Also STC students have a commendable record in sports at National and International levels. STC Volleyball team is considered to be one among the best teams in the state.

The V.S.V.Vidyaa Mandir, a charitable trust recognizing the need for higher education, among the rural youth set-up the college with a determined vision to provide collegiate education to the rural students hailing from various villages in and around Pollachi.

The college offers ug programs and pg programs in various disciplines. The aim of STC is to improve the employability skills of the students, the college has made all arrangements to offer a certificate course in communicative English approved by Bharathiar University, Coimbatore and 8 career oriented courses approved by UGC.

The college offers communicative English course for all the students and a well furnished language laboratory is also available for this purpose.
