Shrimati Shantaben Motilal Panchal Science College, Talod was established in 1960 managed under CD Patel Mahavidhya Mandal.

Shrimati Shantaben Motilal Panchal Science College is affiliated to the Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University, Patan.

The College was started with UG program in Chemistry and Physics.

The Department of Mathematics was added in 1987, while the Department of Botany was started in 1988 and the Department of Microbiology in 1990. PG program in the College started in 1987.

At present, there are in all five Departments.

Two Colleges are being run on the campus: Arts and Commerce College in the morning, while Science College is scheduled at noon.

The College applied to the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) on January 29, 2007 by B+ Grade.
