V.M.V.V. Sangha's Vijay Mahantesh Kripaposhit S.R. Vastrad Arts, Science and Vijay Mahantesh Commerce College, Hungund (Dist. Bagalakote) was popularly known as Shri Vijay Mahantesh Arts, Science and Commerce College, Hungund established on 1st June 1967 under the management of Shri Vijay Mahantesh Vidya Vardhak Sangha which was established in 1915.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is at present affiliated with Rani Channamma University, Belagavi and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) on 30th April 1987 & 12(B) 17th May 1994 under Act, 1956.

It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade - (CGPA Score 2.54 on a 4 Point Scale in 2nd Cycle) on 8th January 2011.

Shri Vijay Mahantesh Arts, Science and Commerce College is the mother institution and the monument of uniting intellectual centre of SVM Society.

Behind the inception of this college were the vision, foresight and relentless efforts of Shri Matha Guruji, Shri Siddhappa Kadapatti, Shri Sanganna Nagaral, Shri Shankarappa Nagaral, Shri Basappa Ganjihal, Shri Rudrappa Angadi, Shri Panduranga Bagalkot, Shri Ranganath Jandari and others.

Further, the objective of the college is aimed at the poor people of Hungund who should be provided with the entrepreneurial environment, which is the lifeblood of community development.

The college campus is situated on the outskirts of the town on Chittawadagi road. It is spread on 21 acres of land. It has six independent building complexes of Administrative Block, Lecture halls, Laboratories, Library, IQAC Hall, and Canteen, in lush green pollution free environment.

At present, the college offers three years undergraduate courses in Arts, Science, and Commerce stream with various specializations under Rani Channamma University, Belagavi. It also offers some Certificate & Add-On courses.

Internet & Wi-Fi facilities may be availed by the students and teachers as per their needs

A special complaint cell (Sexual Harassment Cell) has been formed for the female students in the college. Students can directly complain orally or by written application to the head of the cell. Apart from this, Ragging is strictly prohibited on the college campus

The college also provides NCC training to its students. The NCC cadets attend different camps and earn pride for themselves and for the college
The college Unit NSS Wing performs different type of social services within and outside of the area
The college consists Women Cell to help female students. This cell helps and guides girls to sort out from their personal problem and avoid them from any harassment
