K.L.E. Society’s, Shri Mrityunjaya College of Arts, Commerce, BBA, and BCA, Dharwad was also known as Shri Mrityunjaya College Dharwad was established in 1973 by His Holiness Shri Mahant Swamiji and named after His Holiness Mrityunjaya Swamiji of Murughamath, Dharwad. Later was brought under the fold of the professionally managed K.L.E. Society, Belagavi in 1975.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated to Karnatak University, Dharwad and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.
 
It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B+" Grade - (CGPA Score 2.68 on a 4 Point Scale in 3rd Cycle) on 5th November 2016.

The main aim of the college is determined to provide the quality education to the students. With the correct mix of technology and human touch, the college empowers the aspiring teachers to propagate education through the rungs of the society so that they serve the nation while making a satisfying career for themselves.

The college is renowned for the outstanding holistic education that they provide. As a college, they have a strong focus on student academic progress and achievement.

At present, the college offers three years undergraduate courses in Arts, Commerce, & Management streams with various kind of specializations under the University of Mysore, Mysuru. It also offers some Certificate & Add-On courses.
