Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, school of Mathematics (SMVDU), Katra was initially established in 2005 as a School of Applied Physics and Mathematics, later it is evolved as a separate full-fledged school in 2008.
The objective of the school is to pursue research besides offering courses to the under graduate and post graduate students in mathematics.
The aim of the school is in the pursuit of education, scholarship and research in mathematical sciences at the highest international levels of excellence and to establish a centre of excellence in mathematical sciences to nurture young talented human resource for the service of society.
