Shree Devi Institute of Social Work, Mangaluru (Dist. Dakshina Kannada) was established in 1999 under the Shree Devi Education Trust (R). It is maintained by MHRD under the program 'All India Survey of Higher Education'.
The Shree Devi Education Trust, founded by educationists having vast experience in the field of the college education has established the Shree Devi Institute of Social Work, with a view to train students in professional social work, and prepare manpower for social welfare and social developments.
It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.
It is affiliated with Mangalore University, Mangaluru and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.
It offers two years post graduate degree course Master of Social Work (MSW). The degree is awarded to successful candidates as per the University rules and regulations.
The Institutes provide the opportunity to get to know the society better and be of service to the poor, underprivileged or disadvantaged sections of society. It also provides professional competence for social work practice.
