Shivaji Arts, Commerce and Science College, Kannad was established in 1972. The College is NAAC accredited with B grade.

The College is affiliated to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathawada University,Aurangabad. It has been managed by Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Shikshan Prasarak Mandal Kannad.

Shivaji College is one of the leading centers of higher education. The goal of the institute is all round personality development of students through curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.

Shivaji Arts, Commerce and Science college was established in 1972. The college has 43 years of history as the flagship of higher education in rural part of Marathwada. Kannad taluka is rural, backward and hilly. There is an overwhelming majority of tribals living in this area.Though the area is rural and backward Shivaji College is trying to cater the need of the rural, poor and oppressed students of this area. Shivaji College is one of the leading centers of higher education. The College is NAAC re-accredited with ‘B++(CGPA 2.92) grade’. The college has 20 acres of area with well equipped departments and academic building in natural surroundings. There are independent buildings for junior, senior and MCVC. The College library has complete facility and over 50000 books, 100 research journals, periodicals and rare reference material; comfortable readings halls are available. Office Administration of the institution is fully computerized. We have several sports facilities with indoor, outdoor games gymnasium and Fencing etc. For all round development of the students, efficient and dedicated NCC and NSS units play very active role We are multi-faculty college with more than 3500 students (including Jr. College & MCVC) on the role. Our total staff includes 47 teachers in the senior college and 38 teachers in junior college with non- teaching staff of 44.

We have 16 departments including 5 post graduate departments. Our teachers of Chemistry, Physics, Botany, Psychology, Sociology, History, Hindi and Marathi are guiding Ph.D. and M.Phil students. We have introduced computer and management science courses for the convenience of students. Thus we are trying to provide the most recent information to the student in this area .

Every year several students of our college find place in the merit list of the university examination. Today this college is a renowned institution of higher education in Marathwada. Our college has lion's share in the progressive movement of educational, social and cultural development of the backward society of this area. Our college is known for discipline and transparency.
