Shaheed Bhagat Singh Government College, Kotkapura is a premier and prestigious seat of learning, established in 1982.

The college is recognized by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation council), Govt. of India.

Kotkapura enjoys good reputation as an institution of higher education in the state.

There are two teaching blocks which surround the administrative block. One teaching block is designed on the university pattern with five lecture theatres having seating capacity of 200 students each and twenty other big and small well-furnished classrooms.

The second block is in the classical Victorian fashion with lecture rooms having portico and facing lush green lawns.

There is a cinder track for athletics fulfilling all national standards. A slanting cycling track is also there in the athletics track.

All facilities have been provided to the students conductive to their curricular and co-curricular development such as canteen maintaining all sanitary and hygienic conditions.

The college is affiliated to Punjabi University, Patiala.
