Sh. S R College of Education (SSRCE), Karnal was established in 2008.

It is approved by State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Haryana.

The college offers teacher training programme at the undergraduate level. The institute offers this programme, which is a two-year full time course, as per the rules and regulations of SCERT.

The college has various modern facilities to make sure all round development of its students within the campus.

The college is affiliated to Kurukshetra University.

The university was established in 1956. It is a multi-faculty centre of higher education, and has grown up as one of the premier centers for advanced study and research in the region. It is located on the western bank of Brahm Sarovar in the holy city of Kurukshetra, the land of the historical Mahabharata.

The university is a member of The Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

Apart from being recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC), Kurukshetra University has also been graded with 'A' grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
