Seth R.C.S. Arts and Commerce College, Durg was established in 1964 District Education Society. It is one of the premier institutions to impart & provide a platform in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the path of progress.

The college is affiliated to Pt. Ravi Shankar Shukla University, Raipur and recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) Act, 1956.

The college has always stood above the rest of its approach to education and its pedagogies. Nevertheless, our ways of teaching and learning have been always unique and innovative.

The college is established by District Education Society, approved by the Government of Chhattisgarh and the college offers courses in Arts, Commerce, B.Lib, M.Lib & B.P.Ed.

The main aim of the college is to respect and honor humanity at large and serve the society for the betterment of mankind, to endeavor, to impart education to students belonging to different strata of society irrespective of caste, color or creed, to uplift the deprived and academically weak students empowering them with knowledge, to develop social, moral, aesthetic and ethical values amongst the students, to equip the students with essential skill to sail confidently through life's complexity and challenges, to cultivate the qualities of perseverance, dedication and excellence in the students and to prepare competent citizens with strong and unflinching character.

Rules & Regulations at Seth R.C.S. Arts and Commerce College, Durg:

Once a student takes admission in the college, He/she has to pay the fee for the whole academic session even if he/she discontinues in the middle of the session. The Total fee paid to the institution is not refundable (except caution money) in any circumstances
The principal has the right to cancel the admission of any student in case him /his/her: - does not pay his/his/her fee in time. Does not show satisfactory progress in studies. If his/his/her conduct and behavior is not found satisfactory
The principal has the right to cancel the admission of any candidate at any time without disclosing the reasons. No legal action can be taken in this matter.
In accordance with University regulation of C.G. Govt. 75% attendance is compulsory in every subject for appearing in the University Examination. The rules and regulations as introduced from time to time by the Governing Body of the college, State Govt., Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University or any statutory body will be binding on all the students.
As per the decision of the Supreme Court, ragging is a punishable offense. Any Student found indulging in this misdeed is liable to five year's imprisonment, rustication from the institution or eligibility to admission as the regular student for three years
Admission will be done immediately after the date of publication of the result of the previous examination. Fees will be accepted at the time of admission
Intimation of admission will not be communicated to the individual applicants. Names of students selected for admission will be displayed on the college Notice Board

The college has established an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) to assure the quality of the college and publishes college magazine every year.
State Government and the Central Government offers a number of scholarships to the meritorious students and the students belonging to SC / ST / OBC
A special complaint cell (Sexual Harassment Cell) has been formed for the female students in the college. Students can directly complain orally or by written application to the head of the cell.
The institute provides the training facility like- face to face interview, resume making, communication skills, that help the students to face the campus recruitment.
For every course, the college imparts practical training to its students that helps them to understand better, improve their demonstrative skills, eliminate hesitation and in this process strives to mold them into industry ready professionals.
The college also provides NCC training to its students. The NCC cadets attend different camps and earn pride for themselves and for the college.
