School of Pharmaceutical Education & Research - Jamia Hamdard, Delhi is a constituent department of Jamia Hamdard University was established in 1972.
It is a Muslim Minority school managed by managed by Jamia Hamdard Society (Estd. 1906) by Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed.
Jamia Hamdard Deemed to be University one of the well-known practitioners of Unani System of Medicine.
The school is affiliated with Delhi Board of Technical Education, Delhi and run courses under Jamia Hamdard University, Delhi. It is recognized and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and Pharmacy Council of India (PCI).
The school aims to prepare globally competitive management professionals with strong moral, personal and social values and whose training and management skills are grounded on appropriate and advanced concepts and principles.
It is co-educational self-financed providing regular courses, located in an urban part of Bengaluru played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.
The department started B.Pharm. course under Delhi University in 1973 and later M.Pharm. programme in all the four disciplines and simultaneously Ph.D. programme in all the disciplines was started in 1986.
The courses were started with 60 seats and simultaneously growing numbers and now approximately 766.
In collaboration with Ranbaxy Research Laboratories, Department of Pharmaceutical Medicine was started in 1999 for a Ph.D. programme in this discipline.
The school has received awards in the field of education, sports, and extra-curricular activities.
The School has published more than 800 research papers in SCI-indexed reputed journals and applied more than 25 patents in last five years.
The school offers four years diploma programs in Bachelors of Pharmacy and two years programs in Master of Pharmacy. It also offers Ph.D. programs.
The school has an online application process where prospective applicants are expected to fill in their interests and academic achievements.
Average of 50% in all examinations leading to graduation (45% for SC/ST candidates) and 75 percentile and above in any of the Entrance Tests-(75 percent and above).
The students were selected through Qualified GPAT (with valid score card) and CET (Combined Admission Test) Entrance Examination conducted every year. The students have to appear in the interview conducted by Jamia Hamdard.
