Savitribai Phule Mahila Shikshanshastra Mahavidyalaya, Maharashtra was established in 1989.

The college is named after late Savitribai Phule who opened the doors of education for women & college is started and run by Rayat Shikshan Sanstha, Satara.

The college is reaccredited with B grade by NAAC in the month of Feb. The College can be termed as ?pursuit of academic excellence?.. The college has obtained grant-in-aid of UGC. The College has got U.G.C. New Delhi recognition since December 2006. We have received approval of Shivaji University and Govt. of Maharashtra for starting B.C.A. course from June 2007 and immediately we have started BCA professional degree programme from that same year. One of the major objectives of establishing this college was to cater the need of education of women from rural area. Establishment of Computer Centre for computer literacy, Short Term Courses for self finance and personality development and excellent academic record are our special features.

This is the only independent women’s college in Satara city providing qualified educational services to the women in and around Satara city.

The College is affiliated by Shivaji University, Kolhapur in 2006 and recognized by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bhopal.
