Satavahana University, Karimnagar was established in 2008, has its roots in the erstwhile post graduate centre of Osmania and Kakatiya Universities.

It is named after the Satavahana dynasty that ruled the region.

The University offers many of its PG, UG and professional programs through two of its colleges called University College and University Post Graduate College and the other at Godavarikani.

Also, there are over 160 affiliated government and private colleges spread far and wide over the entire Karimnagar district.

Vision and Mission:

To bring a paradigm shift from mere teaching and leaning to social empowerment with emphasis on high quality value-based education with need-oriented education and training to become partners of national development process.

Foster creativity in teaching, learning and research to build a knowledge base and promote quality initiative which can empower the human beings and develop human resources to meet the societal needs, so as to ensure a better quality of life
