Sarat Centenary College, Hooghly was established in 1976 as junior College with higher secondary course which was later upgraded to a degree college in 1978.

It is also under the grant-in-aid scheme of the Govt. of West Bengal.

The College is affiliated to the University of Burdwan

The college has been recognized by the UGC under 2f in 1980.

The aim of the college is to provide excellence in education at the undergraduate level to the students of all communities and especially to the financially backward students in this area.

The college is well equipped with all modern facilities.
