Sahid Kshudiram Mahavidyalaya(SKM), Jalpaiguri was established in 1962.

It is a well-known college in this region. The aim of the college is to provide students with the knowledge and skills they need in this era of information and teaching.

The curriculum is designed by the Boards of Studies of North Bengal University. The college is recognized by UGC under 2(f) & 12(b).

The College has state-of-the-art technologies and infrastructure.

The college comes under the North Bengal University, established in 1962 with a goal to disseminate knowledge to fulfill growing socio-economic and technical manpower needs in the six North Bengal districts and the neighboring state of Sikkim.

This is a state university situated near Siliguri in Darjeeling district. This was the first university in the region.

The University has played a pioneering role since inception in spreading higher education and scientific attitudes within the predominantly rural areas that comprise its vast jurisdictional territory.
