Janopakari Sri Doddanna Shetty's S.L.N. College of Arts and Commerce, Bengaluru Urban was popularly known as S.L.N. College of Arts and Commerce, Bengaluru Urban was established in 1966 and managed under SLN Charities Trust.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college affiliated to Bangalore University, Bengaluru and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956 in July.

It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade - (CGPA Score 2.03 on a 4 Point Scale in 2nd Cycle) on 5th November 2016.

It is the oldest college next to R.C. College and St. Joseph College of Commerce producing thousands of Commerce and Arts Graduates, The college offers B.A., B.Com, BBM courses with various specializations.

In the year 1966, the college was established as SLN College of Arts and Commerce. In the same year, the SLN Charities Trust also started a PU College on the campus.

With the establishment, a lot of Government Colleges in the vicinity, the student strength of the College has gone down over a period of time. However, all efforts are being made by the Management, Principal and the staff of the college to remain committed to the vision and will of the Donor Sri. Doddanna Setty in establishing the Trust.

The college was admitted to grant-in-aid by the Government of Karnataka in the year 1987. The college aims to blend traditional values with modern requirements of the society and tries to enforce the regimen of curriculum and skills to create confident human beings ready to serve the society.
