Ram Jaipal College, Chapra was established in 1971.

Its affiliated to Jai Prakash Vishwavidyalaya.

which is considered as one of the premier colleges of Bihar. It serves the needs of higher and quality education of the people of Saran commissioner.

It comes under the Jai Prakash Vishwavidyalay (University) which is considered as one of the largest Universities in Bihar.

There are altogether 21 constitute colleges, 11 affiliated colleges come under the roof of Jai Prakash Vishwavidyalay. Apart there are 17 proposed colleges among which 3 are professional colleges.
