R.S. More College, Dhanbad a short working name of Ram Sahai More College, Dhanbad was established on 1st June 1959. It is situated at Ratanpur Village under Govindpur Block of Dhanbad District.

It is one of the premier institutions to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated to Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribag and therefore it is a constituent part of this university and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956. It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

Since its inception, R.S More College has been serving the long - felt needs of underprivileged like Adivasi, Harizan, Minority and Backward Sections of society residing in and around Govindpur.

Most of the boys and the girls are getting facilities for higher education in this college. R.S.More College has thus brought higher education within the easy reach of the rural population.

This college emerged as a strong pillar of higher education not only for boys and girls of Govindpur Block of Dhanbad District and its nearby villages but also for the students of adjoining districts of West Bengal. The college teaches up to Degree level in Arts, Science, & Commerce.
