Punitha Valanar College of Education, Chennai was established in 2008.

Its affiliated to Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University.

with the motto of "LEARN, LIVE, SHARE". The teachers trained by this institution should LEARN all modem methods and arts of teaching and PRACTICE them as teachers, and SHARE their experience, not only with students but also with the society of their innovations and LIVE up to the ethical norms of the society to create new earth.

The mission of the college is to know the people and serve them. Serving the people is a collective process of rethinking, reviewing, reordering the needs, the challenges, the problems and the issues facing the people and exploring the means of responding to these challenges with the view of solving them.

Punitha Valanar College of Education as one of the steps in uplifting the people, the diocese of Dindigul, at the dawn of the new millennium, has undertaken the task of initiating A COLLEGE OF EDUCATION at Kosavapatty (in a rural area) in order to provide able and efficient teachers with moral values, together with Catholic principles that "INDIA IS LIVING IN VILLAGES" and "THE FUTURE OF INDIA IS MOULDED IN THE CLASS ROOMS".

So the moulders should be well trained. As to provide well-trained teachers for all students, PVCE are launching a programme of starting a B.Ed., college in ITS diocese. And the pioneering task of the B.ED College is entrusted to Rev.Fr.VJesuraj M.A; M.A; M.Com; M.Ed; M.Phil.
