PRIME Engineering College (Praveenya Institute of Marine Engineering & Maritime Studies), Vizianagaram was established in 2005.

The courses conducted by PRIME are approved by AICTE, New Delhi and the institute is affliated to Andhra University, Visakhapatnam.

The college PRIME was established by a group of academicians and professional engineers.

At present PRIME is conducting Seven Engineering courses in Mechatronics, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Communications, Computer Science & Engineering and Marine Engineering.

Presently PRIME is the only approved institute in Andhra Pradesh for conducting B.E. Marine Engineering.
