Prabhat Kumar College, Contai was established in 1926.

Shortly after Gandhiji’s historic visit to Contai, Prabhat Kumar College, the oldest College of Purba Medinipur district was founded with bounteous donation from late Biswambhar Dinda.

Located in the coastal area of Bengal, Prabhat Kumar College processes a sprawling campus of 17.43 acres.

Initially the college functioned as an Arts College under C.U. with only 39 students.
