Potti Sreeramulu Telugu Centre for Distance Education, Hyderabad was established in 2001.

It is affiliated to Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University.

The centre was started with a noble intention of catering to the educational needs of large numbers of students all over the State.

This Centre now offers 16 Courses at Certificate, Diploma, Under Graduate and Post Graduate levels in specialized areas like Performing Arts, Language, Literature, Journalism and Astrology. Launched with a moderate strength of 300 students, the centre now aims to fulfil the aspirations of over 4,000 students spread across India and five other countries.

The courses offered at Potti Sreeramulu Telugu Centre of Distance Education were duly recognized by the Distance Education Council (DEC), a wing of Indira Gandhi National Open University, in May 2010. Apart from the main campus at Hyderabad, the centre serves from campus situated in Warangal. This Centre offers only those courses which are fully supported by the regular departments in the University thus strictly adhering to DEC and UGC norms.

Objectives of the Centre :

• The main Objective of Centre for Distance Education is to provide equality of educational opportunities for higher education through distance mode for a large segment of the population, including those in employment, women (including housewives) and adults who wish to upgrade their education or acquire knowledge and studies in various fields.
• To provide flexibility with regard to eligibility for enrolment, age of entry, methods of learning and conduct of examinations.
• The Centre offers 16 Courses at Certificate, Diploma, Under Graduate and Post Graduate levels, for the benefit of the working population in various fields.
