Panchthupi Haripada Gouribala College (PHGC), Murshidabad was established in 1996.

Its affiliated to University of Kalyani.

This is a Self Financing, Co- education college. The primary objective of the college is to provide a scope & opportunity of higher education to the people of this locality specially amongst the women and who are economically weak and are not in a position to send their wards to a distant college.

The campus of the college generates an ideal ambiance for studies. The college offers the course in discipline of Arts and Science. The college is well equipped with all modern facilities. A variety of teaching and learning techniques are employed to the students.

The college comes under the University of Kalyani, established in 1960 with a campus area of over 400 acres in Kalyani town. It caters mostly to the students of rural and back ward areas. The university is presently offering 23 post graduate programmes under four faculties.

The University has introduced a wide range of curricular options to train the students in different fields of specialization through teaching, Research.

The University is a member of association of Indian Universities (AIU), Association commonwealth Universities (ACU), Global University Network for Innovation (GUNI).
