P.D. Women's College (PDWC), Jalpaiguri was established in 1950.

It is the oldest institution in North Bengal imparting higher education exclusively to women.

The college is accredited to National Assessment and Accreditation Council with B+ grade and is affiliated to North Bengal University.

P D Women's College is the lead institution for empowerment of women through higher education.

The college has Centre for Women's Studies established in 2007 under the sponsorship of UGC.

The main objective of establishing the centre is to materialize the government's policy of bringing the women folk of this region to the main stream of developmental activities of the country.
