NSS College, Nilamel established in 1969.

It is affiliated with Kerala University.

The institution was recognized as a Research centre in 2005. It has six UGC Projects in Malayalam, Zoology and Political Science.

As part of the extension activities, the college brings out handwritten magazines, conducts short term training in communicative English, and organizes workshops on rights and responsibilities of citizens etc.

The NSS activities of the students had earned them opportunity to attend the Republic Day Parade and the Programme Officer had won accolades for outstanding work.

The students are provided job oriented courses and computer awareness.

The courses offered by the college includes B.A.- English, Economics, History, Malayalam, B.Sc – Mathematics, Physics, Botany, Zoology, Bio-Chemistry B.Com – Accounting M.A. Malayalam.
