Nitte University Center for Science Education and Research was established in 2005.

Its affiliated to Nitte University.

Nitte Education Trust was founded in 1979 by late Justice KS Hegde, Judge of the Supreme Court of India and Speaker of the Lok Sabha. Justice Hegde strongly believed that education is pivotal to the overall progress of a community and the vision led to the birth of Nitte Education Trust.

His son, Mr. N V Hegde has taken up the task of transforming his dreams to reality The Trust has 3 sprawling campuses at Bangalore, Mangalore and Nitte comprising 28 institutions with 9 health-science institutes, including a medical college with a 1000-bed teaching hospital, a dental college, 2 engineering colleges, 3 management institutes, a college of hotel management, an institute of mass communication and journalism, a host of schools and other colleges.

The Trust continuously strives to improve the quality of life of the socially and economically disadvantaged through various community- development projects
