National Institute of Technology (NIT), Nagaland was established in 2010.

Deemed University Full funding support from the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India Qualified facultyState of Art Infrastructure,Separate Placement cell Various Scholarships offers.

The NIT Nagaland has commenced its academic session with the first batch of students in July 2010 at NIT Silchar campus.

There are three branches namely Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering to begin with. Curriculum shall be drawn in the lines of IITs and shall have the best practices.

The admission in NIT Nagaland is based on AIEEE, conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education.

NIT Silchar shall be mentoring the Institute for two to three years. Mentor Director (Director NIT Silchar) shall act as Director and exercise such powers as Director till a full time Director is appointed.
