It is a Christian minority institution, which is managed and run by Nirmala Charitable Trust, Thalacode.

The college is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam and recognized by the Government of Kerala. Nirmala Training College, Thalacode is approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

The college imparts undergraduate level teachers training programme, that is, Bachelor of Education (B. Ed).

Nirmala Training College Thalacode has all the basic amenities for the all round development of its students.
