Netaji Subhas Memorial City College, Cuttack was established in the name of City College, Cuttack in 1979 in the premises of city High School, Rajabagicha on the historic river bank of Kathajori .

The college was established by some eminent persons of the silver city with a catholic spirit to cater to the need of higher education for many meritorious students who were deprived of higher education in the city.

The College was shifted to its own building in 1983-84 session, located very closely to its parent campus of Rajabagicha.

The institution is highly indebted to Her Highness UMESWARI SUTU, the Maharani of Darpani State who was generous enough to grant this piece of land to the college to fulfill the desires of the founders and above all the parents and students of this college.

The college is recognized by the Govt. of Orissa and was first affiliated to Utkal University.

But with the change of the education pattern, the college was affiliated to Council of Higher Secondary Education, Orissa in 1983-84 and imparts instruction in Arts, Science and Commerce streams.

Presently, there are about 2300 students qualified teachers working in the college.
