Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology, Dwarka was established in 1983. It is affiliated to the University of Delhi, New Delhi.

At present, the institute offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate courses with various specialisations. It also offers add-on courses.

"The Delhi Netaji Subhas University of Technology Act, 2017 (DELHI ACT 06 OF 2018) (As passed by the Legislative Assembly of the National Capital Territory of Delhi on the 10th August, 2017) An Act to provide for the reconstitution and upgradation of the Netaji Subhas University of Technology as a non-affiliating Netaji Subhas Unversity of Technology, and to provide for education and research in branches of engineering, technology, sciences, humanities, social sciences and management and for the advancement of learning and dissemination of knowledge in such branches and for certain other matters connected therewith or incidental thereto :

Previously NSUT is an Autonomous Institution under Govt. of NCT of Delhi and affiliated to University of Delhi, Netaji Subhas University of Technology is a seat of higher technical education in India. It was established in the year 1983 as Delhi Institute of Technology with the objective of meeting the growing demands of manpower in the emerging fields of engineering and technology with a close social and industrial interface. Over a period of time, the institute has careved a niche for itself, both nationally and internationally, for excellence in technical education and research.

The Institute has grown leaps and bounds since its incpetion, both in size and in the scope of its activities. The overall academic environment in the institution is highly conducive for achieveing excellence in education and research. It has been consistently ranked as one of the top engineering colleges in India and has featured prominently in various national level surveys conducted by reputed professional and trade magazines.
