Naval Institute Of Technology (NIT), Mumbai was established in 2007.

The college is affiliated to the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education.

The college is approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). It is also affiliated to Mumbai University for its BSc. degree course in hospitality studies. The Institute is well equipped and has fully furnished laboratories and classrooms.
