National Power Training Institute-ER (NPTI), Durgapur was established in 1968.

This college is affiliated to West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT).

NPTI (Eastern Region) Durgapur plays an important role in the field of HRD in the Power Sector as a leading Institute in the Eastern Region and till March 2010 has trained about 30000 Power Sector personnel in technical and managerial skill development programs including various professional and academic courses.

To provide a quality, customer focused, satisfactory training courses with sustainable improvement plan and targeting the potential upcoming technology driven training requirement for power sector personnel.

NPTI has implemented Integrated Management System in line with ISO 9001:2008 and EMS 14001:2005 for a better understanding and follow up of internal improvement process and to deliver more value to the participating organizations of power sector.
