National Institute of Advanced Studies in Architecture (NIASA), Pune was established in July 2005.

It as the first institute of architecture initiated jointly by the Council of Architecture (COA) and the Centre for Development Studies & Activities (CDSA).

It is a national level institute of excellence that facilitates advanced research in the various fields of architecture, to teachers of architecture, professionals and individuals / students.

For this NIASA is in talks with CDSA, recognised research center of Pune University, in offering Doctoral and Post-Doctoral level programs.

NIASA is presently operating from the picturesque campus of CDSA, on the outskirts of Pune, Maharashtra, lovingly called the Oxford of the East.
