National Institute for the Orthopaedically Handicapped (NIOH), Kolkata was established in 1978 is an apex organization in the area of locomotor disability (Orthopaedically Handicapped).
NIOH is an autonomous body under the ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India.
The efforts of NIOH have been made to promote rehabilitation management, education & training to develop manpower required for preventive, promotive & rehabilitative services for the persons with loco-motor disability.
