Nandalal Borgohain City College, Dibrugarh is a co-educational institution of Higher Education established in August, 1992 as a result of the great effort the renowned educationist Late Nandalal Borgohain.

Initially the college was known as Dibrugarh City College later renamed as Nandalal Borgohain City College in the year 2008 in honour of its founder. This Non-Government Public College situated in the South -Western outskirts of Dibrugarh Town at Nirmali Gaon. It caters to the educational needs of the poor and backward population of Assam.

The college is affiliated to Dibrugarh University, Dibrugarh in 1997 and recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) Act, 1956. It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade on 23rd November, 2005.

It offers Higher Secondary Programmes in Arts and Commerce and Degree Programmes of Arts stream. It has also started self- financing Diploma Courses in Computer Education and Short Term certificate courses in Electrician, Motor-Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, Draughtsman, Welder, Fitter, Radio & T.V. Technician.

The college also has a Contact Centre of Institute of Distance and Open Learning (IDOL), Gauhati University for PG courses. Besides this, the college is running a Study Centre of Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOPU), Guwahati.

The campus area of the college covers about 1.72 acres of land. Besides the well-furnished class rooms, office buildings, the college has a Library, an Auditorium a well-equipped Conference  Hall, A Girls Common room, Boys Common room, Canteen & a two storied girls Hostel.

The college proposes to construct another Hostel for the boys. Other support services of the college include-  Research Cell, Career Counseling Cell, Women Cell, Community Cell, Eco Club, SAHITTYA CHORA, Cultural Department, Music Department NCC & NSS, Red Ribbion Club, Sports facilities and a playground. The college attempts to create a hygienic atmosphere in the campus to augment the quality of education.

The Arts faculty of the college is consisting of nine departments namely - Assamese, English, Education, Political Science, Economics, Sociology, History, Philosophy and Anthropology. The Principal of the college and other four teachers have Ph. D. Degree, thirteen teachers have M. Phil Degree & five teachers have qualified NET/SET.

The teaching faculty is energetic and quite competent and they prepare the annual teaching plan to complete the syllabus accordingly. At present the college has 60 (Including ITI, IGNOU and KKHSOU) well qualified and experienced teachers along with administrative, technical and supporting staff.
