NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad was established in 1998, by an Act of the State Legislative Assembly (Act 34 of 1998) by the state of Andhra Pradesh. NALSAR stands for National Academy of Legal Studies and Research.
NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad is approved and recognized by the Bar Council of India (BCI), New Delhi. It is renowned for being the 2nd National Law University which has been instituted in the country. It is a residential institution that occupies a position of national eminence.
NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad aims at promoting legal and ethical values. It also aims at fostering the rule of law and the objectives enshrined in the Constitution of India.
The fee structure and the facilities to be provided to the students here is decided by the government. As per the statute, the Chief Justice of the High Court of Hyderabad operates as the University's Chancellor. On the other hand, the Vice-Chancellor operates as the chief administrator.
NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad was ranked 12th at the Eleventh Annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot held at Vienna.
NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad offers a B.A & LL.B. program which is an undergraduate course of five years. It is an honor in intellectual property law. It also offers an LL.M. program for a period of one year.
Students seeking admission to the college must check the cut-off marks specified for appearing for the test conducted by the college. NALSAR conducts a Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) every year for students interested in taking admission to the college.
