Motilal Nehru Medical College was established in 1961.

Situated in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, the medical college was founded precisely after 100 years of its suggestion by the British in 1861.

During the year, five Indian cities including Bombay, Madras, Calcutta, Lahore and Allahabad were proposed for opening medical colleges in the country.

The institute is affiliated to the University of Allahabad.
