Morning Star Home Science College for Women was established in 1963.

The college is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam.

The congregation of the sisters of Nazareth who established this college with diploma courses in Home Science had the great mission of empowering women to be efficient and effective home makers as well as nation builders upholding the basic values of life.

The Management of the college soon realized that a university affiliated degree course is also required to spread the idea of effective home making among young women thus giving a new outlook to women’s education.

A self financing BSc degree course in Home Science was started in 1968 affiliated to Kerala University. The college has earned reputation as a place of learning as well as a training centre with social outlook and community orientation.

The objective is that every student of this college strives sincerely to keep up the noble tradition of the college by pursuing their studies diligently and learn the art of selfless service.
