M.M.D, D.A.V College Giderbaha (Dist. Muktsar) was an Arya Samaj Minority College also popularly known as Mata Misri Devi, D.A.V College Giderbaha established in April 1970 and managed by the D.A.V. College Managing Committee, New Delhi.
It was managed by D.A.V. College Managing Committee (DAVCMC), New Delhi which was established in 1987 is the largest non-governmental organization in the field of education in India today.
It is one of the premier minority colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.
The college is affiliated with Panjab University, Chandigarh and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.
It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) (in 1st Cycle).
The aim of the college was to provide our students with experience and exposure for realizing their potential to the fullest and train them to prepare for the prospective challenges of life.
In 1976 Sh. Murari Lal Ji, a leading businessman who had firm faith in the teachings of Swami Dayanand and ideals of Arya Samaj donated Rs. 1.25 Lac to name the college after his mother’s name. This college was initially a ‘Girl’s’ Institution but in 2002, it was converted into a co-education college.
It was a co-educational private Institute, provided a regular course in which is located in the semi-urban part of Muktsar played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.
The college conferred the status of grant-in-aid college that the fees and all the facilities for the students are fixed by the government.
The college also received the numbers of achievements awards in the field of education, sports and curricular activities under Panjab University, Chandigarh.
The college offers three years undergraduate courses in Bachelor of Arts streams and offers two years of post-graduate in Arts streams with various specializations under Panjab University, Chandigarh.
