Maharaja Krishna Chandra Gajapati Medical College & Hospital, Berhampur also popularly known as MKCG Medical College is an important center of medical education in Berhampur, Orissa.

The medical college was established in 1962.

At that time Institute was called Government College of Berhampur.

MKCG Medical College has been declared a deemed university by the order of Universities Grant Commissions (UGC).

The M.K.C.G.Medical College, Berhampur was started at first as an extension wing of S.C.B.Medical College, Cuttack in the year 1961 with an annual intake of 40 students.

The library at the College is fully stocked with numerous volumes and subscription to many journals, periodicals, and magazines. The Central Library is sanctioned with a budget of 9 crores. The entire faculty of this institute is certified from reputed institutes around the country.

The college provides excellent hostel facilities comprising of clean and well-maintained rooms. The students also have access to modern tools in the laboratory and workspace. The faculty of this institute encourages seminar based study of the students.
