Mepco Schlenk Engineering College (MSEC), Sivakasi was established in 1984. The college was affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai and now it is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai from 2001.
Mepco Schlenk Engineering College, Sivakasi, is a leading self-financing Engineering College started on 17th October 1984 in the presence of Ms.& Mr.Gunter Von Schlenk, Ms. & Mr.Erwin Flohrer from M/s. Carl Schlenk A G and Dr.S.Krishnaswamy, the then Vice Chancellor, Madurai Kamaraj University.
Shri Sv.K.M.Ramalingam, Sri.A.Tenzing and Dr.S.Arivazhagan serve as the President, Correspondent and Principal of the college respectively.
The College is approved by AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to Anna University from Chenni with Permanent Affiliation for 14 out of 17 Programmes. Seven UG Programmes and 4 PG Programmes are accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi under Tier I Category. Also our College is accredited with A Grade for a period of 5 years from February 2021 by National Assessment and accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore. Our college has been granted Autonomous Status by UGC, New Delhi & Anna University, Chennai from the academic year 2013-14 and Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) in true sense, Fast Track Scheme to undertake internship cum project during 8th semester, special courses by industry / Academic experts from India and abroad are introduced. The institution is fast catered to bridge the gap of demand and supplies of quality Engineers and Managers and completes 38th year of Service par Excellence. With Quality, Standard and Discipline as Mantras, the ideal practices like complete Academic Freedom, emphasis on Outcome Based Education (OBE), encouragement for Research and serene campus life, emphasizing overa11 personality developments are catalytic for the present status of the institution. Smoking is totally prohibited in the campus and this rule is not only applicable for our students, staff and Management, it is also applicable for the visitors and our honoured guests. No single student can be found loitering outside during the class hours. No marking of any sort can be found either on the walls or on furniture. This sort of practice has become the culture of the college and we are proud of it.
In the hostel rules, study hour and silence hour have been introduced which are strictly implemented. We strongly feel that such rules are essential as the students are in the adolescence period. As a result of this practice, our students have secured 800 University Ranks (49 First Rank) in UG and 281 Ranks in PG (41 First Rank)
They have also bagged many rolling shields and cups in all extra curricular activities including Sports, Fine Arts, Literary Association, N.S.S. and Photographic Club. Ours is coming as a model or ideal institution.
The Management, Principal and Members of the staff strive hard for the personality development of our students. In this temple of learning, we are not only involved in teaching the subjects, but also in imparting true education to the students to mould them as good citizens of the country.
Our goal is to develop this institution to the National / International Level by starting several post graduate courses and undertaking Research & Development work of a high order and finally raise the status to a Deemed University.
