Army College of Medical Sciences (ACMS) was established in 2008 under the aegis of Army Welfare Education Society. It is a medical college established to address the requirement of providing quality undergraduate medical education towards of serving and retired Indian Army personnel.
The foundation stone of the college was laid on January 28, 2004, by Raksha Mantri Shri George Fernandes. It was inaugurated by Raksha Mantri Shri AK Antony on January 5, 2009.
The college is affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi and it is situated near Base Hospital Delhi Cantt, New Delhi. The annual intake of students to this college is 100.
The college is recognised by Medical Council of India (MCI), New Delhi. Admissions to this college are carried out by the affiliating university.
Since inception, ACMS students have been securing top positions in university examinations, averaging ten distinctions in every university examination. They have made their mark in various inter-college academic, sports and cultural competitions.
At present, the college offers five years six months undergraduate MBBS course with the state-of-art facilities.
ACMS is a fully residential medical college. So, all students will stay in the college hostels. There are two separate hostels for girls and boys in the hostel complex.
