Mata Sahib Kaur Girls College, Talwandi Sabo (Dist. Bathinda) was established in July 1997 and managed by Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee (S.G.P.C.) Sri Amritsar (R). The college is named after the revered mother of Khalsa Panth, Mata Sahib Kaur Ji.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated with Punjabi University, Patiala and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.

The aim of the college was to prepare the students to face all the challenges of life with full courage and conviction while pursuing their academic career, they enable each girl to develop their intellectual, creative, spiritual and physical potential also make the all-round development of the students and they strive for perfection and excellence.

It was a woman self-financed Institute, provided a regular course in which is located in the rural part of Bathinda played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

The college also received the numbers of achievements awards in the field of education, sports and curricular activities under Punjabi University, Patiala.

The college offers three years undergraduate courses in Bachelor of Arts, Science, Commerce, Mangement, and Computer Science streams and offers two years of post-graduate in Arts, Science, and Commerce streams with various specializations under Punjabi University, Patiala. It also offers Post Graduate Diploma Course.

State Government and Central Government offers a number of scholarships to the meritorious students and the students belonging to SC / ST / OBC
The institution has provided ICT facilities like computers, projectors, audio-visual gadgets, scanners and printers to the departments and also other aids and a huge number of availability of books for effective delivery of curriculum and for inculcating the knowledge of the subject
A special complaint cell (Sexual Harassment Cell) has been formed for the female students in the college. Students can directly complain orally or by written application to the head of the cell. Apart from this, Ragging is strictly prohibited on the college campus
To sharpen the skill of students and their personality development, various curricular and extra-curricular activities are the regular features of the institution
The college also provides NCC training to its students. The NCC cadets attend different camps and earn pride for themselves and for the college
The college Unit NSS Wing performs different type of social services within and outside of the area
