Deogiri College, Aurangabad was also known as Marathwada Shikshan Prasarak Mandal's Deogiri College, Aurangabad was established on 22nd June 1960 under the management of Marathwada Shikshan Prasarak Mandal in 1959.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) on 1st Januar 1965 & 12(B) on 1st January 1999 under Act, 1956.

It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" Grade (CGPA Score 3.75 on a 4 Point Scale in 3rd Cycle) on 17th March 2016.

The region had been under the clutches of Nizam in the Hyderabad state till 1948. The institute was founded by Mr. V.R. Sawant and Mr. Vinayakrao Patil who were assisted by a team of dedicated social workers.

The foundation of this college was a noble attempt towards the search of the identity. Within a span of 42 years, the college has built up its reputation as a formidable center of higher education. It was with great difficulty, maintained the balance between qualitative and quantitative growth.

The college provides quality education in their respective subjects it also provides all facilities to the students for building their character.

It is co-educational private institute, providing a regular course which is located in the rural part of Aurangabad played a pioneering role in the field of higher education. the campus is located in another city also as a different name of institutions.

The college conferred the status of grant-in-aid college that the fees and all the facilities for the students are fixed by the government. The student's admission is done as per the Admission Criteria prescribed by the affiliating university.

The college was also recognized & conferred the status as “College with Potential for Excellence (CPE)" by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi on 15th October 2010.

The college is divided into two educational sectors:

• Junior college
• Senior College

The college offers undergraduate, postgraduate, & doctorate courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, & Management streams with optional specializations under the University of Mumbai, Mumbai. It also offers Add-On Diploma & Certificate courses.
