Mansa College of Education, Durg was established in the year 2003 with the primary motive to nurture and facilitate students to discover the realms and pleasures of learning by building a progressive educational environment.

The college is affiliated to Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur and recognized by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) from the year 2003-04.

The college runs under Vasuki Memorial Sanchalan Samiti, (Regd), is an organization which is a voluntary citizens group, organized on a local level, to address issues in the area of vocational and professional education.

It is task-oriented and made up of people with a common interest. Vasuki Memorial Sanchalan Samiti was founded in the year 1990, with the primary motive to nurture and facilitate students to discover the realms and pleasures of learning by building a positive, progressive and quality educational environment to achieve employment and self-employment.

The Society was thus established with the mission of "बेहतर एवं रोजगारोंमुखी शिक्षा" and is registered under Madhya Pradesh Society Registration Act of 1973. Society exists and is operated "exclusively for rural and urban educational purposes and not for profit".

Under the guidance of Shri S.D. Saxena and Shri B.S. Saxena the society started various courses like ITI in Fitter, Welder, Mason, Cutting Tailoring and Electrician trade, Polytechnic in core branches B.Ed., D.Ed., M.Ed. and B.P.Ed.

The main center of the foundation was intentionally chosen to be rural as well as the urban area of Chhattisgarh. Initially, the majority of people here could not afford to send their children for technical or professional education or to have a satisfactory level of education. Hence the society tried to sort out all the problems of the area.

The institute offers two years Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course for those who have completed their graduation with minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.

Students here are admitted who completed their graduation from recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the Degree level. But Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) & (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled with a relaxation 5% marks ineligibility for admission.

It also offers two years D.Ed, M.Ed & B.P.Ed. courses recognized by Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur. It aims at educating more and more people of rural socially economically backward and to those who have craving for education but can’t manage to go far in distant big cities.

Various teaching and learning techniques are being used by the faculty to impart knowledge and skills to students at Mansa College of Education, Durg in its various departments.
