Mankar College, Burdwan was established in 1987.

Its affiliated to University of Burdwan.

A large number people of this locality and surroundings have directly extended their help for the benefit of the college.

Beside this Bireswar Banerjee & brothers, the son’s of Late Sushil Banerjee, Mr.Gurudas Banerjee and some other persons interested in education and development of the locality have kindly agreed to donate land.

The journey began with six Arts subjects and sixty three students and a thatched roofed mud-walled hut.

There are almost four hundred students in First Year Arts alone.

Huge buildings have been constructed in a spacious campus.

The success rate over the years has remained uniformly outstanding, almost one hundred percent on an average..
