Mangalayatan University - Institute of Visual & Performing Arts( MU-IVPA), Aligarh began with a 32 scholars of Ph. D. & D. Litt. being registered. Their research work is in progress, First Batch of M. Phil Visual & Performing Arts and Diploma students of Fashion Design, Vocal Music, Photography have completed their courses. The Institute had a full fledged program of SPIC MACAY in which 'Rosa Brothers' performed their recital. An 'Indo Foreign Cultural Exchange Program' witnessed Dr. T. Jaimini and D. Turi from Germany doing a jugalbandi on Tabla and Sitar. Mr. Debasis Chakroborty, Classical Guitarist of IVPA was invited to Monash University, Melbourne to teach Indian classical guitar to the students there. He was also invited to teach foreign students of about 35 countries at Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, Agra under H. R. D. Ministry. Head of Theatre Arts, Mr. Rajesh Kumar Saini, has received Natya Bhushan Award 2008 at International Theatre Festival, Cuttack (Orissa). Mrs. Kunjalata the HOD in Odissi dance was invited to Russia to teach students there.
