Malwa College Bathinda was established in 2001 and managed by Malwa Advanced Educational Society (R).

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated with Punjabi University, Patiala. It is recognized and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. & Govt. of Punjab.

The aim of the college was to make them morally strong and mentally poised also facilitate the overall growth of our future professionals and making them disciplined.

It was a co-educational self-financed Institute, provided a regular course in which is located in the urban part of Bathinda played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

The college also received the numbers of achievements awards in the field of education, sports and curricular activities under Punjabi University, Patiala.

The college had created several Centers of Excellence, these centers are established with a view to strengthening teaching, research, consulting and community engagement. Each center is created around a contemporary management theme with the primary goal of creating, disseminating and applying knowledge.

At present, the college offers three years undergraduate courses in Bachelor of Arts, Management, Science, Computer Science, and Commerce streams and offers two years of postgraduate in Commerce, Computer Science, and Management streams with various specializations under Punjabi University, Patiala. It also offers Post Graduate Diploma, and Add-On Certificate courses.

To provide practicing professional educators with degree programs, in-service programs, and other opportunities to develop advanced skills
To promote scholarly activities (such as quantitative and qualitative research, inquiries leading to insights about current practices education, projects resulting in innovation or improvement in colleges, or collaborative endeavors with professionals in colleges) which may lead to the improvement of educational practices
To sponsor programs of service to children and youth, as well as their families and communities, and to collaborate with private and public agencies in formulating and delivering these programs
To provide the university community, professionals in related fields, and the public-at-large with programs and other opportunities for them to examine educational issues in a larger social and cultural context

State Government and Central Government offers a number of scholarships to the meritorious students and the students belonging to SC / ST / OBC
